The difficulty of compiling course notes from the contributions of the participants is that somertimes there are no contributions or that the the contributions are faulty. Leaving aside the question of the editorial control of the compilation it remains an exercise in TeX to render properly when the file is available. I would wish those using the DVI files more luck.
